What universal means
The macOS universal build contains application code for Apple silicon and Intel. You do not need separate graphical-app downloads for the two processor families. Choose the installer whose filename ends in macos-universal.dmg.
Supported macOS versions and runtime requirements should be checked against the upstream release information. Universal describes processor coverage; it does not promise support for every historical macOS release.
Install the DMG
After the download completes, open the DMG and copy the PhotoCraft application to Applications. If the disk image presents a drag-and-drop installation layout, follow it. Once copying finishes, eject the disk image and launch the application from Applications.
The upstream project describes its official macOS builds as signed and notarized. If the system reports an unexpected source or a damaged file, verify the source and download integrity and consult the release documentation.
Graphical application or CLI
The universal DMG provides the graphical application for everyday editing. A separate universal macOS CLI ZIP is available for scripting and command-line workflows; the package list distinguishes these two downloads.
For a first editing session, use the graphical application to learn layers, adjustments and export. Command-line parameters should be taken from the project documentation and the tool’s --help output rather than assumed to match another editor.
First edit and working documents
Open a duplicate image, inspect the Layers panel and try a Curves or Levels adjustment. Save an editable working document when you need to revisit type, masks or adjustment layers; export a flattened image when you are ready to share.
Format compatibility will evolve during early alpha. Keep the original PSD and check a re-saved document in the application that will consume it before relying on the interchange.

PhotoCraft is early alpha. Back up important documents before editing, and check the project documentation for PSD compatibility and supported features.
